I let my son read this book to his brothers and the first thought that came to their minds was Jumanji! Only, instead of a video game appearing on an old tv screen, this story has a magical wilderness app on a phone that took four unsuspecting kids to an outside adventure. Josh, Tyler, Melisa and Katie we're magically teleported to the forest and had to do something to survive Moose Lake.This was an interesting read. My boys collectively asked me to (jokingly) download the particular app mentioned in the book so they could join in the fun too with Josh and company. My littlest one was a little serious though. When I asked him about the characters in the story, he said he liked Melisa because even of she was a know-it-all, she seemed like a good girl. Both my two older sons liked Tyler because he was funny and and seemed like a caring friend.My kids loved that the book also featured about wildlife and nature. Reading a fun story while learning is a big plus to them.Now they can't wait to read the next book adventure that awaits the new four friends.

Wow - hard to believe the great reviews.... yes, the story has promise... but it's really never delivered. Really liked the title and had high hopes for this. Targeted toward middle schoolers, the writing is predictable and not of high level. Did not like the ending at all. Might be more suitable for struggling readers...? I DID like the extra information which gave out helpful hints on being in the woods, but sadly, do not recommend this.

Surviving Moose Lake was quite the adventure. I felt like Josh, the main character, was talking directly to me. Josh shares what he is thinking, feeling, smelling, and touching. Josh was so descriptive in what he was telling me that I felt made like I was on the adventure too. Josh and three other classmates work together to survive in the wilderness, as they strive to complete a mission. Some basic survival skills are figured out, thus the reader learns these as well. Good things to know, just in case! I see there are more interesting facts and survival information at the back of the book. Thanks Karl Steam.

Author Karl Steam writes in a wonderful style that guarantees the attention of young minds. If you ever wanted to bond even more with your children or grandchildren, this would be a lovely read to share with them. I read it with my grand kids and they loved it.It seems to me that this book has been created with a lot of love and joy and it’s apparent that the author really enjoys creating such wonderful stories. We’ll be looking forward to seeing what’s coming next. Five stars from us. Well done Karl!

I was almost expecting Dragons to aooear when the story took off, but I think it was just as interesting sticking to nature.Nice short read, and I definitely recommend it for the suggested age group for the book.

I honestly enjoyed it I do wish it were longer but one does not simply add two hundred pages to a book

I have gone through so many attacks in my life.A lot from occult family members.Use this book and listen to your dreams.I had a dream my door was marked by someone who wanted to hurt me.I woke up prayed got anointing oil and anointed my door.This book brings many warnings too much to write.

 This book has many vintage type lace patterns for bedspreads, and table cloths , doilies etc.. it has and has translation for german, french, for the chart symbols so someone who did not speak english wanted to use this for a charted pattern, their are written patterns as well.see my video review of some of the details of the book, there is some good information and lengthy patterns, but good instructions....altho i have not used it except to read it and re read it, I have enjoyed the book and information, I find the print is a bit too small for me and if I were to use the book for the pattern, I would probably enlarge the pattern. I usually knit things that are smaller, sweaters, scarves etc.. so just have not undertaken anything as large as a bedspread, but I totally admire those who do... maybe one day... I will jump into it.. for an heirloom to the grandchildren

This is a great classic book (along with her second book) to add to your "keeper" knitting library. Not only are Kinzel's patterns timeless and beautiful (in particular Azalea, Primula and Sunray patterns), she writes each one with the expectation that you will customize them. She includes a small or large version for each pattern, even a curtain and bedspread pattern. Some patterns she has included instructions on how to resize them or change their shape. Her introductory chapters are also packed with information on how to work squares and corners, how to block to bring out details, casting off in crochet, and my favorite - how to read lace charts in English, French and German. There are some exceptional German and Austrian lace patterns available on the internet. Full of great advice that is clear and understandable - Kinzel was an accomplished instructor in Czechoslovakia and in England and it shows. So much information in such a small, inexpensive book that it still astounds me. Wish I had purchased her books before all the others - I wouldn't have needed them.

I would have liked previewing a couple pages before purchasing because I probably would not have purchased it. Instructions are vintage and difficult for me to understand clearly. For someone reading a 'first' book of learning how to Knit lace, clear Instructions are important. Also photos are in black and white which is a big disappointment. Needless to say I won't be buying the 'second' book.

The text is interesting, although the style of the patterns is dated (tea cloths, anyone?). However, I think the book is worth the money for a couple of the patterns. I'd like to knit them in thicker yarn with larger needles to make afghans. I could have given the book more stars, but I think Dover reproductions aren't really good quality. The charts look as though they were copied on an office copier. The detail isn't always distinct.

Great book. It has the pattern I want for the curtains I want to knit for my closet bedroom. I can hardly wait to start knitting. Thank you so much, perfect for what I want. This is a good seller with great prices. I recommend this seller again.

This book is one of the classics of lace knitting, referred to in many more modern books. I bought it to have it im my collection. The instructions are good especially as there are both chart and 'old fashioned' written instuctions, so that you can check the chart with the traditonal k1, p1 type pattern - useful if you are new to chart reading. But I would consider it a beginners book, as an experience lace knitter, I had to learn a new set of chart marks - time someone set a standard there. The main down side is that the patterns are for household items (chair backs, dressing table sets) that no one uses any longer. Fun to knit if you can find an alternative use such as crocheting them together to make a bedspread.

I was hoping for some information on making large round shawls. There is not much information on that, in this book. Directions are given for mostly rectangular items, with the occasional doily or other small item. The round items given are too small to be adapted for use as shawls; and I'm not skilled enough to determine how to add rounds to a design to enlarge it.

This was my first time taking the TEAS test. The version I took was the ATI version. I would have to say that this book is amazing. I signed up for the test 2 weeks before I took it. The only thing I did to prepare myself was reading this book and doing the practice tests it had. This book is awesome and it covers all of the main material that you will need to know. I was very surprised to see that the questions on the TEAS were very similar to those in this practice book. I would highly recommend this book!

I had previously purchased a different book and found your recommendation from someone on YouTube. Since I had used the different book to study for the exam I scored a 68.1 in reading. To gain acceptance into the program you have to score a 69 in reading . I have noticed that your materials explain thoroughly and clearly every subject and it is worded more like the exam I took. I also noticed that your materials are through and include things that we should look for to help us better understand what is the key words in every area, not just reading, including how to solve word problems with math, science and English & language usage. I now have a better understand of what to look for and what to expect on this up coming exam. THANK YOU!

Useless. Don’t buy this. I didn’t even pass the TEAS. Buy the mometrix one because it gives you tons of questions and also a lot of videos. L

This has a lot of reading and the chapters don't really go into great detail on how to solve the math problems which was my biggest issue on my first test. I do like the fact that there are 2 practice tests in the back. It gives you the answers, but I'm a hands on person and would've like to be able to know how to solve the problems from beginning to end. Overall it's better than nothing so I gave it a 3 but really it's a 2.5 to me.

Sorry but I like the KAPLAN ATI book a lot more. I enjoy how it's set up. I have seen improvement going through both books as I'm a 1993 graduate and have been en out of school a LONG time.

This book is so on point when it comes to every subject but especially reading and English. The science questions are also similar to the exam, so I recommend this study guide if you struggle with those areas.

The book was very concise, easy to understand, with ample practice questions. It covered everything needed to do well on the exam.
