I don't get the 50-years of love for this book after reading it. I like Hal Lindsey and I watch him every week. It's a highlight for me. It's possible that I was expecting too much and then I just wasn't "blown away" so it was disappointing. And that would be my problem alone. Technically, I had to re-read sentences often because they seemed to go on forever and confused me. And there was at least one point where I didn't agree with what was written vs. what the Bible says, but he's the expert and I am not. I wouldn't discourage anyone from reading this book, but I can't necessarily jump for joy about it either.
Everyone concerned about the political, physical, and population problems of the earth should read this book. The author wrote this book about 40 years ago, but it is still highly relevant to the world’s problems. Read with an open mind. A reader does not have to believe in God to understand this book’s use of Biblical prophecy to analyze world events with stunning relevance and accuracy. Today’s chaos is part of the pattern he wrote about 40 years ago. The book does not rant and rave. In fact, sections of it are as plain as textbook explanations with meticulous details. The latter half of the book, however, is a page turner. The world’s chaos gradually took the shape of a disturbing global order that is not a remedy but a warning. The inevitability of events and the rapidly advancing technology that contributes toward that inevitability are both alarming and amazing. The book has helped me understand the relentless forces moving toward a global future and given me the courage to resist those forces, even when they appear to make life easier or faster. The global future is as sinister as it is inevitable, and we won’t even notice because we are plugged in to today’s version of Roman bread and circuses. This book changed my life.
My pastor was taking political science at UCLA, when he read this book. He was stunned by how currant events has been written thousands of years ago in scripture. It is revelant today, and oh so exciting!
This is an awesome and classic addition to any library concerning prophecy. It's the first book I read after giving my life to the Lord in 1976.
When this book was written I was a young mother with little concern about these issues. It was mentioned by my pastor recently, so I decided to read. Was amazed at how Bible prophets were so on target about events in the future.
nothing wrong with the book. It is just a repeat of others I've read, plus it was written a while ago and things in the middle east have changed. I didn't appreciate as much as I would have within a year or so of it's being written.
I lent out my copy....wanted to be sure to have it in my library so ordered another. Great book.
A classic on fulfilled Bible prophesy, it's only aged well. Highly recommended!
