This was a great read. In summary it really helped me to do something that I've struggled with for years. It helped me to develop a plan to make improvements in my life. I've read many works on personal development but I've never been able to fully implement ideas or methods. I think I've always been looking for that big Ah-Hah moment where I could flip a switch and become more productive, more creative, more strategic, more of everything that I think I need to be to become more successful. The Compound Effect made me realize that I was not only on the wrong path, but I was stuck in the mud on that path. It's simple, small incremental changes lead to exponential results. Read this book and apply the principles that Darren lays out. It's changing my life and I hope it helps you as well.

Stay away from Kinlde edition!When viewing in kindle and I'm half way through, none of the pictures are visible. Even some text (see the example) is unreadable.It's like a teaser (movie trailer): 'Life comes down to this formula:" ....<>I wonder who made a kindle version and didn't check the results.So far I like the book, but I feel cheated for not having all the content.

Okay, so you need to know that I have been a serial self-help book junkie! I was hopeless! This was the first self-help book that "cured" me and helped me see the light, so to speak (the other one, read about the same time, The Slight Edge, is also EXCELLENT; it has the same message, and further reinforced my cure)! I had been looking for the magic fix! Of course, there is no such thing! This book helped me see that! But it provides a real and powerful approach to improving one's life! Spoiler alert: you have to put in the effort! And it works sort of like this: slowly, slowly, slowly, . . . SUDDENLY! You'll have to read the book to understand. I HIGHLY recommend this book!

This book is so good I find myself reaching for it again and again when I need motivation. Darren Hardy is the man and has some great advice, if you're open to it. Even if you just need some nuggets of useful advice, you will take a strong message of accountability away from this book.

I did a 5-minute video review of this book on my YouTube show "Always Better Challenge Show".The main premise of this book is the idea that slow and steady wins the race. It is very helpful the way Darren reminds us that even ridiculously small changes can, if applied CONSISTENTLY, produce huge effects over time. He also reminds us of the power in taking responsibility for our own actions, and that if we want to "manage" something, we must first "measure" it. I also love the idea of putting success on "autopilot" through establishing good habits.There are a million books out there in this space. I should know, I've read most of them! But this is one of a handful that I think belongs on everyone's bookshelf, at least everyone who is interested in personal development and improvement. You can't go wrong with this one.

I am young, and desire to succeed. Every day. Every night. Previously I planned to read 30 books of self-development in a year to transform myself. Then I learned, it is much better to find one GREAT book and read it 30 times in a year. I had a hard time seeing how this concept applied to me at first, as I am not a business person and am not seeking large profit. But as I continued to read, the author applied the principle to other things like quitting smoking, eating healthy, and basically accomplishing any goal you have set for yourself. Some of it was tough to read, as in taking responsibility and accountability for not putting my all into my efforts to succeed, but a kick in the butt that I needed to push myself to the next level. The author is entertaining too, so not a boring read.

Very good detail in the book. Replaced my Mercury water pump using only the instructions from this book.Very easy to follow the instructions as well as it should have been otherwise I would not have been able to accomplish!In my words, "they dumbed it down"!

It tries to cover too many models, so it doesn't cover any of them well. It's a great reference, but I'll still be buying the book for my specific motor.

Johansson has ALREADY established the character in multiple movies.These essays show her character’s intelligence, high skill level, strength but best of all her humanity because she wasn’t enhanced with special powers, magic or high tech suits of armor. She’s just a badass who through hard work, and some probable psych trauma with deep need of therapy, found a way to fight back through the injustices of the world. Something we could very much use in reality right now. She shows that women can be strong, intelligent and deserving of a place in this male dominated world.I like how each of the essays examined a different aspect of her character so you get this incredible depth of understanding you don’t normally see in the movies or comics individually. Not to mention they show how the perception of who she is and her place in the Marvel world has changed with time and social constructs.This is the perfect book to give Black Widow fans and women in general to remind us we have everything we need to be smart and strong inside of us.

Mervyn Millar’s Puppetry: How to Do It is a training manual for those planning to coach workshops in puppet performance in which puppet structure is revealed and puppeteers are visible on stage. A prime example of this form is War Horse, originally mounted by the National Theater of London and Handspring Puppet Company in 2007 and subsequently playing in eleven countries.A full size horse seems to appear on stage but is clearly operated by three puppeteers in full view of the audience. The exposed puppet horse skeleton is made of bamboo and covered in translucent fabric. It is not a horse at all unless we are seduced to believe it is real by the skillful manipulation of the three puppeteers. One key to animation is the breath. Breathing together allows the three horse puppeteers to work together. It also shows us that the horse is alive.Mervyn Millar was part of the original cast of War Horse, and is part of the creative team mounting this and other productions. He has traveled internationally, training subsequent casts of War Horse and also heads his own production company, Significant Object. He has now written a comprehensive 381 page training manual for performing puppetry.Puppetry: How to Do It presents fifty exercises developed during Millar’s career in puppetry. He generously gives credit for the origin of the training strategies. For example he says “More than fifteen years ago, I first met Handspring and they led a two week workshop on making puppets breathe. I can’t remember if I’d had puppets breathing before that, but it chimed with a desire I’d had to see how small and precise a puppet’s movement could be.” (p. xiv)In like manner he credits puppet shows played on the open stage with visible puppeteers as having a key reference point in the Japanese Bunraku. This influence is obvious in the book’s cover photograph. But he adds that the influence of “western theater is often irreverent, restless, experimental and characterized by endlessly changing puppet designs and conventions.” (p. 170) This modern mix of puppetry production is skillfully addressed with new exercises in this manual.Improvisation which includes the workshop participants as audience is an essential element in the training. The workshop participants give the puppeteer a specific feedback of what they see. The workshop performers accept the observations without defending their performance. Unless guided by the leader the workshop can become a debate. The focus is on creating and perceiving the work.The workshop is a rare opportunity to hear in detail what the audience sees on stage. Mervyn gives a number of strategies to make the performers feel safe so that they can open up as the workshop develops. Among them is keeping the atmosphere light and supportive, sometimes playing music during the scene, and importantly, side coaching during the playing.Millar utilizes bullet points for suggested side coaching and for ideas that the leader might want to explore. He suggests knowing the exercise well with the goal of making it the leader’s own. Added commentary before and after each exercise gives depth by offering the author’s personal experience with the issue.The exercises are sequenced from bare hands, to sticks, to found objects and finally to brown paper puppets but there are too many exercises to form a singular curriculum. They are meant to be chosen to fit the needs of the players and the production and the time available. The brown paper full sized shapes walk on the floor while the collection of sticks, about eighteen inches long, walk on on tables. The table is familiar ground for those who have played with a toy theater.The last publication dealing solely with puppet performance is Making Puppets Come Alive by Larry Engler and Carol Fijan published in 1971, 48 years ago, and still in print. This book is a taxonomy of hand puppet gestures. Current practice often mixes puppets with legitimate performance and is eclectic in methods of puppet manipulation. A new handbook is a welcome addition to puppet performance literature.Almost forty years ago my daughter and I had a good time playing with her rag doll, Emmy. My daughter would say “Let Emmy talk, Dad.” I never thought that our play with Emmy could have been the core of a show because there was no performance model available. After studying this book, I see the potential for the puppeteer as a visible performer.

i have come to realize that I would read anything that Lea writes......including the phone book, if her name was on it as author. Having a quick, easy read like this is like finding the mad money you thought you lost but can now go spend! What a wonderful reward! So looking forward to the next book!

If Ms Hart writes it I buy it (and I did), however this review is based on an ARC generously provided by the author. I enjoyed the story of Willa, a physical therapist, and Chad, a Naval Petty Officer who’s on leave due to an injury. The beginning was adorable with Chad sealing his fate when he knocked on Willa’s door the first time. That start and the ending were the best parts for me while the middle didn’t have too deep of a story. That’s probably to be expected since this is a short story so I’m not sure how much substance is possible. There is a lot of heat (like, a ton) in Fate but I was pleasantly surprised that it didn’t cross any lines for me despite the self-described naughtiness. It’s definitely more raw than other Hart books but not a lot more imho. There are really only four characters in Fate so there’s no getting lost with who’s who. While Willa and Chad fell quickly into bed, they fell almost as quickly into love. Chad and Willa are a really nice couple and his love for her, with his protectiveness and support, will warm your heart. Ms. Hart’s books always have solid relationships without a ton of relationship drama (thank you.) The spotify playlist is aces.Okay, because I’m a nit picker I’ll point out that there are a few editing issues; one that comes to mind is taugt/taught vs taut. Also, I’m a visual person so the cover art matters to me. I wish that Chad didn’t look like a twin of Sam (Barrage) and a close relative of another couple of heroes from previous Hart books. All in all, a quick read that’ll make you smile for it’s nifty lead characters, it’s handling of an emotional issue that Willa faces head on, and it’s heat. I look forward to the next book in the series.

I have always been a fan of Lea Hart, she is the best at writing military themed romance books, however, this one she had me hooked by the first 2 paragraphs. I was already smiling and never quit until the ending. Lea is know for having such military knowledge, but who knew she knew so much about the hot and heavy love scenes, I was happily shocked and yes it might not be full of substance that other folks mention, but she maid up for it in this hot scorching book. Whenever, I read her books I feel like I am right there in the moment, I liked that this was a shorter version book, just enough to keep me interested and able to complete in 1-2 reading session. Of course I received an ARC of her book in exchange for a review copy. I always tell my friends about lea, she is the best in this genre and that is not because of the ARC, I am ex-military myself and her knowledge of how military operations work are amazing. I can't wait for the next book I think it has to do with the friends.

This book was similar to all of Lea Hart's books, in the respect that it has an awesome military man and a woman he can't live without. This starts out a new series for her which is a novella style story with a some more naughtiness.Chad and Willa's story was good. It's an insta-love story which works. It not only sexy times, but there is a story to go with it, which I think is important. I will say that with Naughty Bits in the series title, I was expecting there to be a little more sexy time than what there was. It was a good balance though and I enjoyed this story. It is a good start to the series.

This is one of my favorite authors. I am glad she wrote short stories I was able to read this one in one sitting which I loved. Chad and Willa were fabulous. Chad had no idea going next door because he was angry at his neighbor for cleaning so early keeping him awake would result in meeting the love of his life. I loved that Willa took some convincing but that Chad knew what he wanted and went for it. Ms Hart told this story quickly but I didn’t feel like I missed anything. If you want a quick love story this book had everything. Voluntarily review of an arc.

When it’s meant to be, there’s no denying fate. Chad cones home from deployment and, at first sight, falls madly in love with his new neighbor. Willa falls right back and they are both shocked by how deeply they fall so quickly. I love these two characters who aren’t perfect, but are perfect for each other. This short story has enough hot sex scenes to keep you turning the pages. I cannot wait to read the rest of the books in this Naughty Bits Series! Bravo, Lea!

The chemistry between Chad and Willa is hot right from the start you can feel it. From page one I was hooked, I loved this short story it was sexy, passionate, emotional and romantic.
